"Don’t wait for others to change. There's a good possibility that they don’t see a reason to change anything."

This is something that I realized lately. The efforts you put into changing someone else’s belief will just be drawn in a hole. The frustrations are not nearly equivalent to the endeavors.

Please, I am only expressing my exasperations, not trying to change anyone’s opinions.

The more you butt into someone else’s life, no matter how much you try to change someone’s poor opinion regarding certain subjects, the more frustrated you will become with their reactions. Try to imagine telling your friend that her boyfriend is cheating on her. She will probably think your single ass is jealous or you have feelings for her man. Or, think about the times you make a speech about your radical beliefs to your conservative parents. What were you thinking? As tradition as they are, your parents might just tell you to shut up and stop being crazy.

Except in some rare cases, you will never be able to change someone else’s mind about a set belief. Your friend has to experience the consequences for themselves, or else they will never understand the lesson. Moreover, you ultimately become the “bad guy” by trying to help.

Come in peace with the differences in life. That will make you appreciate the similarities even more.

Be yourself. Don’t change your own values due to some expectations. Yet, let others live their lives.
