As if breakups weren't already hard enough, some people are getting hit with the whole package: breakup + pandemic. Yikes. The COVID-19 pandemic is certainly not an ideal time for a breakup, and splits during this time may present a whole new set of challenges. This article is inspired  by my beloved friend. I  gotchu homie. Keep reading.

The truth is, breakups happen, and so do pandemics. However, life goes on. The good news here is that with time, both situations will likely get better. Beating yourself over the fact your ex is gone (hopefully for good) is never the solution. Due to the lack of distractions available, self isolation creates a unique opportunity that encourages us to look inwards, reflect and truly be there for ourselves, allowing us to move through our pain more effectively. So. Take off your PJs. Dump your bowl of chocolate ice cream. Forget your list of sad movies. Let’s dive right in.

  • You are worth of your own love

Take advantage of this precious time and start loving yourself. Get your hands on doing something creative and self-loving. Pamper yourself with all the routines you can find on  Youtube. You can paint your nails, use a face mask, try out new hairstyles, or anything else that you feel like doing that would make you feel happy and refreshed. This is not a time for self-destruction!

  • Get to know yourself

Get to know yourself better without being in a relationship again. If you have been missing out on talking to friends because you devoted all your time to your relationship, try to reconnect and recharge yourself with positive energy.

  • Embrace the reality

Maybe they are just not the right one for you. Acknowledging your reality equates to having self-awareness. Move forward with your life. However, be careful with the crazy post-quarantine rebounds.
