7 tips that will increase your productivity

ree

How to be productive during quarantine? Or just how to be productive in general? I have some tips and advice. Covd-19 definitely changed my perspective on a lot of things. I went through a variety of stages while at home. From binge-eating to binge-watching Nextflix, my life was messed up at first. After some hard-core relfection of myself, I gained inner peace and finally got to my final stage. Wake up naturally at 6 am; meditate and then do some ab exercises; “go to school” at 8 am; manage my website; participate in my internship and volunteer work remotely; chat with friends; leave some time for my family. Everyday is a frenzy state for me. Having the energy and motivation to do all these is not easy.

Here are 7 tips that I’ve gathered to maintain productivity overtime.

  • Put your phone on “do not disturb” and isolate yourself from it. Trust me, even if you put your phone on mute, you will tend to look at it if it’s in a reachable distance. Put it away, leave it in a different room. Out of sight, out of mind.

  • Distance yourself from food. This is not a weight loss tip. Food will interrupt your flow and focus and lower your productivity. Finish your work first before grabbing a snack. Enjoy your food in the kitchen.

  • Plan out your day first before working. You don’t have to create a fancy agenda. You can just jog down your ideas on a piece of scratch paper. Having an organized plan will set your intention for the day so that you don’t feel lost.

  • Take breaks. Don’t try to grind hard and sit in your chair for 3 hours straight. Take a small break every now and then. Go to the bathroom. Pet your dog. Make some talks with your parents. This will relieve your stress so you can perform better throughout the day.

  • Focus on the hard work first, and then shift to the easy ones. You will tend to lose focus as the day progresses. If the work has to be done eventually, why not do the hard ones first instead of procrastinating?

  • Keep an organized environment. The messier the table is, the messier the mind will likely be. Organize your working space in order to keep a clean mind.

  • Dream about the future. Think about how bright your future could be if you work hard right now. Only you can change your life.
