what is Inner Room

“When you pray, go to your (inner) room, close the door, and pray to your father in Secret”(Mt 6:6)

Jesus’ words are very precise: ‘enter the inner room and close the door’. The door He is mentioning here is the ‘outside door’, the door that communicates with the outside world through the senses. Jesus invites us to shut the door.

Ok, I will stop with the Jesus talk. The metaphor here is that we all want to enter into ultimate peace. Somewhere that nourishes us and replenishes us. In order to achieve this ultimate goal, let go of the insecurities, the negative feelings, the toxic relationship. You need to shed off the old throughs, pains, and struggles. Cleanse yourself from the parasites of old memories and pour into full radiance and vitality. Your obstacles have provided you with an opportunity to deepen into the practice that keeps you aligned.
