We all get stuck at times and feel like nothing’s working despite the endless efforts we put in. The entire process sucks because at the end, we would drain all our hope and energy with nothing good in return. We are fighting the universe, trying to accomplish something that doesn’t mean to happen right now. However, this mindset is merely flawed and time-consuming. Life has a funny way of coming back sometimes, and what we need to do is to just relax and pull back.

Taking a step back doesn’t mean you’re lazy or giving up. It just means that we are following the right timing of things. When we don’t see the path in our trenches, it is natural to feel stuck and lost. So, we make a simple effort of pulling back and reflect on whether or not we took a wrong turn somewhere on that path. We can work backwards and set a smaller goal that seems possible to accomplish. When giving ourselves a reset, we can also inject some hope here and there to be fully back in the game.

The same goes to relationships. We struggle. We cry. We try to make things work. However, sometimes, we are taking the wrong approach on ‘doing something.’ ‘Doing something’ is to notice whether they are actually trying in the relationship and accept the amount of effort they put in. If they try ‘just enough’ to keep you around, then leaving the situation or dumping less energy into the relationship might be wise choices.

‘Doing something’ is taking control when you get fed up and taking responsibility for your own life. It's about setting a standard for yourself — how you want to be treated and respected. Don’t negotiate yourself out by giving the other person excuses. If it’s not the right person or the right timing, then pull back and do something that will actually work. The minute we commit to taking real responsibility and making changes, everything falls into place.
